Getting Started


Course Objectives
To teach students the importance of protecting their identity through Cyberspace and Criminal Behavior, Computer terminology & History, Traditional Computer Crime and Identity theft and Identiy Fraud.

Expectations

Attendance:
All students are expected to attend every class.

Assignments: Homework will be assigned you are expected to complete it before next class period.

Late Work
Work turned in late will be accepted after the due date at a cost of 20 points a Saturday. Zeros will be given for late assignments more than 2 Saturdays late.

Make-up exams and late papers: Only one make –up test will be given.

Class Participation: All students are expected to participate in ALL class exercises, textbook readings, assignments, discussion, group work, tests, etc. Each student must give his/her undivided attention (no talking, fidgeting, inappropriate laughing) when other students are showing their work, speaking, facilitating an activity etc. Respect for cooperation with others is essential. Not being interested in a topic is not a sufficient reason for paying attention or participating in an activity.

Academic Dishonesty: Acts prohibited by the college for which discipline may be administered including scholastic dishonesty, but not limited to cheating on an exam or quiz, plagiarizing, and unauthorized collaboration with another in preparing outside work. Academic work is defined as, but not limited to, test, quizzes (whether taken electronically or on paper); projects (either individual or group); classroom presentations; and homework. Any student found to be in violation of one of these items may be dismissed from class with a grade of F.
