Lack of Reporting and Lack of Resources Some things got from reading “Lack of Reporting”, and “Lack of Resources”, are that customers security is considered, but not our opinion. Some companies do not discuss when we are in danger in security, because they want us to have faith in their companies. Another reason computer crime is not reported to law enforcement is because they think reporting the crime will not do anything, or in fact lead to the result in catching the criminal. In my opinion, this is not right because as I consumer of their company, I want to know everything I may be in danger of.

Lack of Reporting and Lack of Resources Also I think these companies have the equipment to find the intrusions themselves. But I beleive that also the law enforcement people dont care about computer crimes because its not that "seriously" so not only do they not know wat there doind they dont event care. I think thats very wrong and unfair to the company. Its like there leting a man loose for killing 100 people and dont care wat he does when he's out there in the world still killing people. But I like I said I thought it was very unfair.

Lack of Reporting and Lack of Resources I agree with zurri because what if they customers do find out. Then that means that they customers will try to find other companies to that are better. Also like wat zurri said wat if some of the customers are the suspects or the computer intrusions.
But honestly if I was working with that company I would lock them up but it was saying in the book how the law enforcement were being very stereotype or retarted because solving computer crimes is very difficult to solve.
It was also saying how law enforcement dont have the technology or equipment. But the training also cost alot of money so that makes them not be in the technical field.
But maybe if they was to invest more and maybe trained more for computer investigations then they alot of companies would trust them. They would be getting more repots, computer crimes and the investigators would be more helpful and would be easier to catch the computer intrusions.

Lack of Reporting and Lack of Resources Some major companies don’t like to report computer intrusions. There are many reasons why they feel they shouldn’t. They don’t want their consumers to know about it. And whoever the suspects are would never be arrested. They also want their consumers to be safe. So they would be better off not saying anything. It would be extremely hard to arrest someone for this. And it would be even harder to find reason s.
It is not that the companies do not have the resources to track the intruders down. They have enough money and technology. But they just chose not to. And law enforcement does not like to handle technology crimes. These kinds of intrusions are incredible complicated to solve. And the training for it is very expensive.
Federal resources have increased their time in these kinds of cases. But they can only do so much. And when they do not have the right technology there is not much they can do. And since there are not many resources for this they hold off until there are “more serious” cases. Some people do not agree with this.
I understand why companies don’t like to file reports. But this is wrong. And I think the law enforcement should make a much bigger effort to intrusion and cyberspace crimes. Some companies have the equipment to search for intruders, but most of the time they don’t really want to. This is unfair because it does not benefit their customers.

Lack of Reporting and Lack of Resources Also one reason companies wont report it is because of he fear that consumers may leave if they find out that there is intrusion going. So the law enforcement was not much of help to the situation.

Lack of Reporting and Lack of Resources Some of the main things I got from Lack of Reporting and Lack of Resources is that they talk about companies and how the go through the struggle of electronic crimes that universites, governement officicals, and finiacial institutions had to go through. Also it mentions the CADS(Computer Anomaly Detection System).Which was a real help because of it being power used to detect suspencion on computers.

Some of the main things I got from reading"Lack of Reporting" and" Lack of Resources" is that one of the main reasons companies don't report is that they want the consumers to feel secure in that their private files are safe. They also feel that if they did report the suspect wouldn't be caught due to computer crime being on the back burner (low-med. priority)of many law enforcement agencies. There s also many expenses that some companies cannot afford or they just dont want to invest in.
Many of the companiesintr dont report becuase of the fear that consumers may leave if they find out that there is intrusion going on. They want to be in contro of the investigation since law enforcement cant gurantee confindentiality of findings.
Another reason they dont report is that many times the suspect is not even caught since comouter crime is low-medium priority. Companies typicaly have a hard time finding propr autority since law enforcement agencies are stereotyped as not very technical.
Law enforcement agencies doesnt have the funds to be properly trained of new technologies.Equipment and the price and salary for a specially trained computer investigators also cost alot.Since law enforcement agecies are underfundded, they typically have poorly trained investigators.
I think that if law enforcement agencies were funded better and invested more into computer investigations that over time it may lead to companies trusting them and reporting.
